Dr. Adelina Emmi

Dr. Adelina Emmi is a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist with 20 years of clinical experience in the infertility field. Dr. Emmi has had an extensive career in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology that has focused on both academics and private practice. Prior to joining CRM, Dr. Emmi was in private practice in Charlotte, NC, served as the Medical Director at Sher Institute of Reproductive Medicine in Central Illinois, and oversaw numerous medical programs in several states around the U.S., including Georgia, Massachusetts, and Illinois.

Dr. Emmi has dedicated much of her professional life to teaching in addition to practicing medicine. She has held faculty appointments at several universities including New York University, Tufts University, University of Pennsylvania, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and the Medical College of Georgia.

She has won several teaching awards throughout her career, and has served on numerous medical and professional committees, attesting to her dedication and abilities in the field of infertility. She serves her patients with experience, knowledge, and compassion gained from her more than two decades in the field of reproductive medicine.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Committed to higher-learning, Dr. Emmi’s education and experience has taken her from The University of Naples in Italy, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY, to Rutgers University in NJ, and Tufts University School of Medicine in MA. Having completed her internship and residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital Center in Paterson, NJ, in Obstetrics and Gynecology, she went on to complete her Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Rutgers University.

SIGNIFICANT AFFILIATIONS & ACHIEVEMENTS

As a past and present member of countless major professional societies, Dr. Emmi currently belongs to the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and The Endocrine Society. Past organizations include American Medical Association, Boston Fertility Society, Georgia Medical Society, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and more.

Dr. Emmi currently serves the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as an adjunct professor at the University of South Alabama. Past highlights include a fertility preservation collaboration with St. Jude Children’s Hospital as well as her role at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, where she was a professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Genetics—and more.

Considered a top specialist and deeply committed to the science of IVF, Dr. Emmi has authored numerous peer reviewed articles, books, and book chapters, and is a sought-after presenter and thought leader for professional lectures and meetings.

FUN FACTS

Closely tied to her Italian roots, Dr. Emmi is fluent in Italian and enjoys all the culture Italy has to offer from the time-tested dishes to the art and architecture of its beautiful cities and countryside. Having spent much of her childhood in Brooklyn, New York, she is also quite the New Yorker and is known and adored for her sharp wit and direct approach.

Having known Dr. Koulianos professionally for many years, she was thrilled when he asked her to join the CRM team and relocate to Alabama. Since arriving, she has fully embraced all the southern traditions and hospitality and is happy to call Alabama home.
