Dr. Suzanne Degelos
Ph.D., High Complexity Laboratory Director of the Embryology, Andrology, and Endocrinology Laboratories (HCLD)
“If CRM didn’t have the best lab possible, we wouldn’t be able to help as many patients build families. In this field, a clinic revolves around the lab. If embryos aren’t developing properly because you can’t afford the absolute top of the line technology, patients will suffer in the long run.”
Dr. Suzanne Degelos has been the CRM Lab Director and Patient Educator for over 26 years. As a renowned embryologist, she is key to CRM’s success and is one of the most notable experts when it comes to embryo development.
Dedicated to science and cutting-edge technology, Dr. Degelos ensures the CRM hospital-based lab is outfitted with the most state-of-the-art equipment available to ensure patients have the best possible chance for success. In addition to time-lapse incubators, embryo culture incubators, and more, Dr. Degelos is extremely proud of CRMs LifeAire system.
The only one in Alabama, Mississippi, and the Florida panhandle, this unique patented system has scientifically proven to significantly improve IVF outcomes. It delivers unparalleled air purity for the most demanding healthcare environment and is the most powerful defense a laboratory can employ. Sparing no expense, the LifeAire system has had a tremendous impact on CRM’s embryo survival rates and CRM’s high success rates.
In addition to her skills as an embryologist, and unique to CRM, Dr. Degelos is an expert Andrologist and highly skilled in male reproductive issues and the impact of sperm quality on embryo development. Considering 1 in 10 men will experience fertility issues, her proficiency in this arena has had a profound impact on CRM success rates.
Another rarity in the IVF field, Dr. Degelos is known and adored for her caring interactions with patients. Meeting personally with each and every IVF candidate prior to treatment, Dr. Degelos founded CRM’s Embryology Class. This class is to not only educate patients, it also allows them to get to know one another before treatment. Dr. Degelos believes the class not only educates and empowers patients, but also helps them feel more at ease with the IVF process. To Dr. Degelos, this hands-on approach is part of what sets CRM apart.

FUN FACTS
Originally from New Orleans, her staff often jokes with her about her “Cajun Sass” as she’s known for her quick quips. Smart as a whip, she enjoys scuba diving deep in the tropics during her downtime. At home in Mobile, she relaxes with her dogs aptly named after some of her favorite islands — think Largeaux, Isla, Cayman, and Turk. Interestingly, she’s not quite a fan of the color pink, yet she has a bright pink Mini Cooper she adores.
