David Hickman is the Technical Supervisor of our laboratory. He first became interested in the field of infertility when he and his wife sought infertility treatment right here at The Center of Reproductive Medicine after the birth of their first child. He feels that the practice is more than a workplace for him, it is like a family.

Mr. Hickman is an expert in embryo and egg cryopreservation. He has perfected his vitrification procedure to produce an 94% survival rate on embryos with a 60% pregnancy rate.

He earned a Master of Science, is certified as a Technical Supervisor by the American Board of Bioanalysis, holds a Medical Technologist Certificate from the American Society of Clinical Pathology and has more than 24 years of clinical laboratory experience with the last 10 years focused in Embryology and Andrology. He has a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis on Clinical Embryology and Andrology from Eastern Virginia Medical School in association with the Jones Institute. Through additional training at the Shady Grove Center for Preimplantation Genetics, he furthered his knowledge of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis methods and developed skills in biopsy and fixation.
